Fake foods in our stores

This picture was taken in Costco, Almaden Plaza, San Jose, CA. Can you spot the problem?

Both the containers are at the same temperature on the store shelf. The container on the right is a clear liquid. The container on the left is a opaque solid. They both claim to be "Cold Pressed, Unrefined, Organic, Virgin, Coconut Oil".

Neither of them were "Cold Pressed, Unrefined, Organic, Virgin, Coconut Oil".

The container on the right was analyzed to be Lauric Acid, scientifically called "Dodecanoic acid". It is the synthetic form of the C12 saturated fatty acid found in coconut.

The container on the left was analyzed to be Palmatic Acid, scientifically called "Hexadecanoic acid". It is the synthetic form of the C16 saturated fatty acid found in coconut.

Both containers contained products which originated from a factory in China. Neither of them came from a natural coconut.
